My passion for fitness presented itself when I was 15. I was utilizing exercise, primarily as an outlet to let off steam. My family is very much obese and back then I was headed down that same path. Insecure, tired all the time, depressed and overall not happy with how I looked. I knew something needed to change. Then, I became addicted to the euphoric psychological effects that exercise gave me. All those self sabotaging thoughts and feelings no longer existed. When I would stop exercising for a few months all those unhealthy habits started to filter back into my life. Being healthy, functional and active is not just a phase someone goes through, it’s a complete lifestyle change. I never intended for this to turn into a career. I loved how I felt and looked so much from exercise that I decided I wanted others to experience this same euphoric feeling!
I’ve spent thousands of hours studying and researching all the latest news related to health and fitness. Daily reading resources like Science Daily for the latest in research. 😛 Fast forward to 28 year old Mykia. I’ve never been sick, I don’t have any allergy issues, and I’ve never had an injury, a tear or a sprain. I’ve spent the last 18 years studying health and fitness. Now I also specialize in Corrective Exercise. I spent my entire life preparing for this moment so I can be here today to share my story with you. I wake up every morning because you guys give me purpose. I Want to be the reason why you feel better, move better and have a better quality of life. You want me but I need you. My goal is to be your coach, your friend and your mentor. I will push you, challenge you and be one of your biggest supporters and accountability partner.
Exercise is medicine, and I’m the injection.
